"ASK ME"
I see her as a little girl,
Hiding in her room
She takes another bath,
and she sprays her mamas perfume.
She tries to wipe away the scent he left behind
but it haunts her mind.
Ya see shes his little rag,
nothing more than just a waif
and hes mopping up his needs
She is tired and afraid.
Maybe she will find away, through these awful years.
To dissappear.

Ask me if I think theres a God up in the heavens,
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask me if I think theres a God up in the heavens,
I see no mercy and no one down here's,naming names.
Nobodies naming names.
Now she's looking in a mirror
at a lovely womens face.
No more frighten little girl,
Like shes gone without a trace.
Still she leaves a light burning in the hall.
It's hard to sleep at all.
Till she crawls up in her bed
Acting quite as a mouse.
Deep inside she's listening for the creaking in the house.
But no ones left to harm her,
Shes finally safe and sound
There's a peace she has found.

Ask her if she thinks there's a God up in the heavens,
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask her how she knows there's a God up in the heavens.
She says his mercy is bring her life again.
Ask me how I know there's a God up in the heavens.
Where did he go in the middle of her shame?
Ask me how I know theres a God up in the heavens.
She says his mercy is bringing her life again.
She's coming to life again.
He's in the middle of her pain.
Hes in the middle of her shame.
Mercy brings life.
He's in the middle.
Mercy in the middle!
Ask me how I know
Ask me how I know there's a God up in the heavens
ASK ME!

GOD BLESS THE CHILD
{A Song For One Another}
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
God Bless the child that suffers
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
God Bless the young with out mothers.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
Let every man help his brother.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Let us all love one another.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
Make all hearts blind to color.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
God Bless the child, who suffers.
